What Causes Arthritis?

Cartilage serves as a cushion in joints between bones. This allows for the absorption of shock and allows motion of one bone against another.

Cartilage has no circulation of its own. It uses the circulation of the underlying bone to provide oxygen and remove waste products. However, if the bone does not have sufficient circulation, the portions of the bone which require more oxygen, such as beneath cartilage, begin to die; this creates dead spots in the bone beneath the cartilage, called subchondral cysts. When cold weather approaches and the barometric pressures fall, the subchondral cysts expand against the injured portion of the cartilage and cause pain. Unfortunately, pain causes a further decrease in circulation to the bone making the arthritis even worse.

As the cartilage begins to die the joint space narrows and the joint becomes painful and stiff as there is an increase in bone to bone contact.

The nerve chemical which controls circulation to the bone is the same chemical which controls circulation to the fingers and toes. This is why people with osteoarthritis also almost always have cold toes and many times cold fingers.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis occurs when there is insufficient circulation to the bone underlying the cartilage. Cartilage serves as a cushion in joints between bones. This allows for the absorption of shock and allows motion of one bone against another. Cartilage has no circulation of its own. It uses the circulation of the underlying bone to provide oxygen and remove waste products. However, if the bone does not have sufficient circulation, the portions of the bone which require more oxygen, such as beneath cartilage begin to die. This creates dead spots in the bone beneath the cartilage, called subchondral cysts. When cold weather approaches and the barometric pressures fall, the subchondral cysts expand against the injured portion of the cartilage and cause pain. Unfortunately, pain causes a further decrease in circulation to the bone making the arthritic pain even worse.

As the cartilage begins to die the joint space narrows and the joint becomes painful and stiff as there is increasing bone to bone contact.

The nerve chemical [Calcitonin gene-related Peptide (CGRP)] which controls circulation to the bone is the same chemical which controls circulation to the fingers and toes. This is why many patients with arthritic pain also have decreased circulation causing cold toes and many times cold fingers.

The arthritic pain is even worse when there is a second nerve chemical which is also insufficient [Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide (VIP)]. In this case, inflammation caused by the degeneration of the bones is even worse due to a lack of VIP. The pain caused by the inflammation decreases the circulation and makes the problem worse. In many patients, the lack of VIP also causes airborne and food allergies, as well as, digestive problems. Not only does arthritic pain interfere with quality sleep but since VIP is also necessary to create melatonin, many of these patients also have insomnia.

Pain causes further decrease in circulation because it destroys CGRP. CGRP not only increases circulation to the bones but also increases circulation to the nerves that created VIP. Therefore, if CGRP is decreased, then VIP is also decreased.

Another common source of pain associated with arthritis is osteoporosis, which is a progressive decrease in bone density and, therefore, bone strength. A lack of sufficient CGRP and VIP can cause osteoporosis. Not only does CGRP increase circulation to the bone but also CGRP and VIP cause increased bone creation while decreasing bone degradation. VECTTOR therapy is a form of electrostimulation founded upon principals of acupuncture, reflexology, physiology, cellular physiology, and anatomy and is designed to stimulate the nerves to produce certain vital neuropeptides (including CGRP and VIP) essential for optimal functioning of the body.

Common Treatments Tried Before Using VECTTOR:

If you have already tried and found physical therapy and NSAIDs to be unsuccessful in relieving arthritic pain you are not alone. Let the VECTTOR Therapy System bring you the pain relief you have been trying so hard to get.

VECTTOR Therapy System

VECTTOR therapy is a form of electrostimulation founded upon principals of acupuncture, reflexology, physiology, cellular physiology, and anatomy and is designed to stimulate the nerves to produce certain vital neuropeptides essential for optimal functioning of the body.

VECTTOR therapy is designed to read feedback from the patient’s body via skin surface temperatures, throughout the treatment process. When indicated by the feedback received during treatment, VECTTOR will prompt the user to log into the system and request new treatment protocols, designed to maximize the effectiveness of the user’s treatments.

What VECTTOR Therapy System Can Do For You?

The nerve chemical which causes a temperature increase in the fingers is monitored by the VECTTOR unit and is the same nerve chemical which increases circulation to the bone. If there are insufficient amounts of this chemical, it causes the changes in the bones of the joints which causes the arthritic pains.
